Moving Out!

Posted by: Atom Heart Father on: December 2, 2009

When I first started this blog I wanted to keep my kids anonymous so their lives wouldn’t be easily googled at some later date. Well, that didn’t work because the nuisance of having separate handles, login credentials, etc. proved to be a barrier to frequent posting. I’ve also decided that I didn’t like maintaining multiple identities, even though I wasn’t doing so for fraudulent purposes.

So, I’ve reintegrated myself and moved this blog to my hosted domain. You can now find me here.

Catching Up

Yeah, so it’s been a week since I posted Wordless Wednesday photos. Deal. :P

Life’s been busy and hectic. I’ve been too busy actually doing work at work to blog. In fact, that’s one of the biggest changes I haven’t blogged about. I’m working away from home again. My boss wanted me closer and more accessible. He also wanted 100% of my attention. So, for June and July, Red was alternating between being watched at a neighbor’s house with their son and being watched at our house by himself. The sitter for both can be seen in last week’s photos. Today is Red’s second day at group day care.

I miss seeing him all day, but I don’t miss the tantrums and other unpleasant distractions. I think I’d still put up with them, though, if given the choice.

“So, what’s new with Red?”, you might ask. Take a look: Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Father’s Day!

Posted by: Atom Heart Father on: June 21, 2009

[We'll call the author of this guest post Stuff. She's a long-time friend of mine and contributor at my previous blog. This is a re-post from that blog.]

I know this is a few days late, but this meditation has been brewing all weekend through my busy, hectic workdays and my dear husband’s slow ones. But this is not for him – he already got the Star Wars trilogy for Father’s Day and one custom card complete with a hand-drawn Darth Vader from our six-year-old.

No, this is for the Fathers that probably don’t get many chances to go fishing or get pancakes in bed or have grand cookouts for Father’s Day. This is for priests.

  • Scott: Sorry you had to go back to work, although I know my wife (a stay at home mom) would love a some time away from the tantrums!
  • Otter: Congrats on the walking. That is a big accomplishment. I understand the working thing. My bloggin schedule has been cut in half at the very least.
  • weaselmomma: Always so cool and exciting when they learn to do something so monumental.

Links? What links?

I can't keep up with blogroll maintenance any more so I've given up. Instead, below you'll find shared links from Google Reader and Delicious. If you read enough of them you should be able to figure out most of the parenting sites I frequent.
